The relationship between Russia and Syria is one of the special cases in the history of international relations.The relation between the two countries not only affects the diplomatic history of the two countries,but also has great influence on the situation in the Middle East.This paper mainly elaborates and analyzes the transformation of Russian-Syrian relations and its impact on the Middle East political situation during the Soviet Union to Russia.The first part introduces the diplomatic relations between Russia and Syria,focusing on a series of historical origins of relationship between the two countries from ordinary to close to stagnation,and finally restarted.Combined with historical background,the development of the basic context between the two countries can be seen from analysis of the conflict and cooperation in bilateral relations.The second part analyzes the major events in the depth of military and energy cooperation,which has great practical significance on the geopolitical environment of Russia,and also has important influence on the Middle East policy of Russia.The third part discusses Russia's policy towards Syria and the internal and external factors for the formation of the special relationship between Russia and Syria in the context of the Syrian war,as well as the influence of multi-polarization of world structure by analyzing the historical relations between Russia and Syria,the demands of the Middle East interests and the adjustment of the foreign policy of the two countries.
