With the disintegration of the two pattern,the international political theory has put forward a new theory about how to explain and predict the international society after the cold war.Offensive realism is a branch of theory of realism,realism was perfect,it is representative of John Meaarsheimer in "the tragedy of great power politics" in one book,a detailed description of the theoretical connotation of offensive realism.Based on the book,this paper describes the theoretical framework,theoretical inheritance and theoretical value and defects of offensive realism.And on this basis,it analyzes the application of offensive realism in the international reality,mainly by the United States to intervene in Northeast Asia and the South China Sea issue and the "China Threat Theory" as the main content.Meaarsheimer's offensive realism is the new development of realism,In "the tragedy of great power politics".By means of hypothesis and historical investigation,Meaarsheimer concentrates on the content of the theory.It is believed that in the international society without government,as the main body of behavior,in order to survive,we must pursue the maximum power.Safety is the primary goal of the behavior of the great powers,and power is the strategy of safeguarding national security.Meaarsheimer's thought has theoretical value,but because it is the embodiment of personal thought,there must be subjective consciousness.Meaarsheimer believed that history is pessimistic,but in the new century according to the theory of application specific period inferred from the theme of peace and development is not suitable,and the country's tragedy is not suitable for every country.In addition,the emergence of theory in order to explain or service reality.America's hegemonic strategy is precisely the use of Meaarsheimer's offensive realism.
