A Study On The Political Evolution Of Myanmar Since 1988

Since independence,Burma has undergone parliamentary democracy and the military dictatorship.Since the Burmese democratic movement overthrew the Ne Wen government in 1988,the Soviet Union,Than Shwe and other new military regimes have appeared.They tried to stabilize the political situation under the tide of democracy at home and abroad,ease the various contradictions in the country and restart the democratization process in Burma.These transitional measures have yielded some success.With the support of the military,Thein Sein's Consolidation and Development Party,which passed the parliamentary elections,came to power in 2011 and took a series of measures to continue the process of political democratization in Burma.Its achievements were that in 2015,the elections were held smoothly in Burma parliament and the NLD which had won came to power.This paper attempts to systematically analyze the development process of Burma since 1988 from the perspective of history.This paper is divided into four parts.The first part introduces the political development of Wu Nu and Ne Wen since the independence of Burma from the perspective of historical development,and expounds the historical background of Burma's political development since 1988.The second part analyzes the ruling background and the stability of the political power of the new military regime in 1988.The third part elaborates the historical background,concrete measures and influence of the democratization process in Burma.Focus on the "seven-point democratic road map" plan,which is the main measures to restart and promote the Burma democratization process.The fourth part focuses on the influence factors,measures forced by Thein Sein government;and the dilemma and the influence of political reform.Finally,it has made a scientific and objective historical analysis,evaluation and prospect of the political development of Burma since 1988.
