Burma as a neighbor country of China that with very important geographical location, which connects South Asia, Southeast Asia, Chinese mainland and holds the Strait of Malacca. For China, Burma has a very important strategic value------From cracking the "Malacca dilemma", to heading down to the Indian Ocean and breaking through the "Asia-pacific encirclement" of America. Since Burma was independent, its political system has experienced many changes, he traditional Sino-Burma friendship has been maintained. After Burma’s election in 2010, the government of Burma has took a series of democratization political reforms, which has promoted the development of Burmese society objectively and improved the relationship with other countries. The political reforms of Burma is worthy of recognition, however, Changes in the environment at home and abroad caused some impact on Sino-Burma friendly relations. This thesis will discuss the influence of Burma’s current political reforms on Sino-Burma relations from the following four chapters.Chapter one mainly presents the domestic political transitions in the period of Burma’s political reforms from the World War Two to 2011, as well as the evolution situation of its foreign policies during this period. Then it comes to the result from analysis that the domestic politics and foreign policy of Burma in different periods are interactional. And the neutralism thought has always run through its foreign policies of in all stages. It is beneficial for China to answer the real changes of Sino-Burma relations reasonably by deeply understanding the relation between Burma’s domestic political changes and foreign policies evolution. Chapter two discusses the objectives, contents and characteristics of Burma’s political transformation since 2010 in details. The political transformation of Burma has been influenced and promoted by profound foreign elements, while its essence is the democratic transition conducted in the situation of maintaining soldiers’ privileged position. Although the political transformation of Burma has acquired substantial progress, the democratization road is still full of challenges for Burma, the country with weak power, barren soil and complex social contradictions. Chapter three mainly discusses the manifestation of the influence of Burma’s political transformation on Sino-Burma relations from three aspects:the political transformation of Burma has made the north Burma border issue complicated; the Sino-Burma economic and trade cooperation has faced adverse conditions; the mitigating of relationship between Burma and other counties has caused an impact on Sino-Burma relations. About the above several problems, chapter four proposes several suggestions of improving and developing Sino-Burma relations. For instance, China should "get involved creatively" into North Burma issue; develop Sino-Burma economic and trade cooperation in multiple dimensions; and strengthen the diplomatic game with other counties in Burma. Finally, the thesis thinks that China should envisage the changes of Sino-Burma relations after Burma’s political transformation, and the thriving situation of China on Burma has not long existed. China should deeply reflect the insufficiency of the former policy toward Burma, improve the policy actively based on the current situation of Burma, and boost the further friendly development of Sino-Burma relations.
