The Cultural Communication Of Intellectual Immigrants And Its Reconstruction Of Urban Culture

With the advancement of China's urbanization,a large number of people have be involved in the construction and development of the city.Among them,the intellectual immigrants with a certain level of cultural knowledge are playing an extremely important role in urban economic and cultural development.In the past,the study often regarded urban immigrants,including intellectual immigrants as a group waiting to be managed and integrated,so ignored their active cultural participation.This paper focuses on how the intellectual immigrants play as the subject of cultural communication to have cultural exchanges in the activities related to culture and spirit.How do they make cultural choices in the conflict between territorial culture and local culture? How do the cultural activities they organize or participate in affect urban culture,and then reconstruct it?In this paper,Guangzhou in the new century was selected as the observation object.Participatory observation was carried out in cultural activities related to intellectual immigration,and supplied with in-depth interviews with intellectual immigrants.It is found that the cultural characteristics of intellectual immigrants mainly come from the influence of their hometown and school education.Once they encounter heterogeneous culture,they do not accept everything,but intend to have cultural communication with their existing cultural characteristics.The main factors that constitute their willingness to spread culture are rooted in their anxiety about self-cultural identity,the need for cultural contacts,and the expression of their cultural tastes.Based on the understanding of the willingness of intellectual immigrants' cultural communication,this paper combs the cultural choices of intellectual immigrants and the path of their cultural communication,so as to explore the impact of their cultural communication activities on urban culture.Intellectual immigrants,as the mainstay of cultural communication,make diverse cultural choices based on the principles of interest,knowledge and sociality.The influx of heterogeneous culture carried by a large number of intellectual immigrants has caused a certain impact on the local culture.The intellectual immigrants have embedded their own cultural characteristics and reconstructed the urban culture relying on their own cultural capital.Under the auspices of political and commercial capital,the construction of urban public cultural service would further adapt to the cultural requirements of intellectual immigrants.The urban public cultural spaces are open and the different cultures in the urban culture circle grow in parallel,resulting in a multi-cultural city.It should be mentioned that the cultural communication of intellectual immigrants and the cultural values advocated by them will also have a negative impact.Younger intellectual immigrants are susceptible to the current internet culture.With the limited access to resources,more and more intellectual immigrants are difficult to get rid of the panic facing the political,economic and cultural capital.The cultural infiltration of consumption capital leads intellectual immigrants to consumerism in a degree.Therefore,the intellectual immigrants' interpersonal contact,and even the new urban culture they participate to shape cannot help but stay on the surface.It is difficult to produce "root" power of culture.
