With the development of society,the cigarette brands and the number of smokers are increasing.Cigarette butts often appear in the crime scene,through the inspection of tipping paper can infer the cigarette brand and narrow the scope of the investigation,so checking cigarette tipping papers is a new topic for the public security's identification department.In this paper,microcracked laser Raman spectroscopy and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy were used to study cigarette tipping papers,results as followed:1.Established a method for discriminating tipping papers by Raman.The experiment condition of Raman affecting the quality of spectra were optimized: 785 nm laser light source,1200 l / mm grating,0% pinhole focus energy,20 s acquisition time,10 times the number of acquisition,point scan collection method,100-2000cm-1 spectral acquisition range.2.The Raman spectra of samples were analyzed,and according the comparison of the spectra of fillers and colorants' standard substance,the printing surface had been got characterization;according to the kinds of fillers and colorants,samples were classified.Investigating the correlation between cigarette brand and filler types.3.Converting the Raman spectra into multidimensional vectors(excel data),combined with SPSS,to investigate the results of cluster analysis of original Raman spectra data.4.Combining with SPSS,the original Raman spectral data were analyzed by PCA,and investigating the results of cluster analysis of PCA Raman spectra data.Comparing with the original Raman spectroscopy data,and the results showed that the PCA Raman spectral data clustering is better than the original Raman spectral data clustering.5.Established a method for discriminating tipping papera by XRF.According to the relative percentage of elements in the sample,samples were analyzed and classified.6.Combining with SPSS,the relative percentage of elements in the sample were analyzed by cluster analysis,and investigating the correlation between the cigarette brand and the relative percentage of the elements.7.Through the discriminant analysis,the discriminant functions were established.According the discriminant function score to analyzing the accuracy of the cluster analysis,and the results showed that the clustering analysis was better.Raman spectroscopy and XRF spectroscopy can be used to distinguish tipping papers.These methods are simple,fast and stable,and they can be used for public security grassroots practice.
