The Study On The Chinese Citizen's Internet Political Participation

Since the 21 st century,with the rapid development of Internet information technology in China,the Internet has already become a latent power that push the society forward in politics,economy and culture.At the same time,Internet Political Participation,an all-new form of political participation is rising in China,and it also influences the political system,political process and governmental management greatly.In recent years,the anti-PX events occur frequently in China,not only reflected the importance of Internet Political Participation in the whole process,but also become the focus of public concern.Therefore,it is realistic and necessary to make a focal study on Internet Political Participation within the scope of political participation and Internet politics.This paper takes Ningbo Zhenhai PX event as a case study,and the main body of the dissertation is made up of five chapters.The first chapter is based on the basic concepts of political participation and Internet political participation,and introduces the background and significance,research status and innovation.Chapter two discusses the rise of Internet political participation in China.The background factors are the foundation and impetus for Internet political participation.Based on the macro-linguistics,this paper proceeds with four background aspects,politics,economy,technology and society.Obviously,it lays the foundation for the analysis below.Chapter three is the focus of this paper.According to the dynamic process of Internet political participation,this chapter makes in-depth analysis the whole process of Internet political participation into four stages,embryo,Internet mobilization,escalation of conflict and subsidence.Meanwhile,tries to answer the question: how has the government's cognition and respond to Internet political participation changed?The fourth chapter chooses Ningbo Zhenhai PX event as a typical case to study,and tries to make research in different fields and stages.There is no doubt that we canfind something in common between theoretical framework and practical case by analysing the realities.Chapter five deals with the conclusion of Internet political participation.This paper argues that there exist positive and negative influence of Internet political participation.Internet political participation has brought a positive impact on democratic politics in China.However,it also has some restrictive factors,such as unequal and irrational participation.In sum,only through the extensive efforts from government,media and citizens can Internet political participation develop in the right direction which is help to political stability and political development.
