On Applying Criminal Profiling To Criminal Investigation

For today's society in China,crime problems become more and more serious challenge.With the deepening of reform and opening up,the intensification of social change,the rapid development of technology,more and more new types of crimes appear in Chinese society.At the same time,with the rapid transmission of information and facilitation of the free movement of population,criminals become more sophisticated,anti-reconnaissance become more complete,so is the criminal investigation pressure.Criminal profiling,as a very successful practice in foreign countries of detection technology,catching people's attention.However,because of the theoretical basis of our criminal profiling research is not deep enough,the operation system of criminal profiling has not yet been constructed and so on,criminal profiling is difficult to give full play to its value in the field of investigation.This thesis uses the criminal profiling applying in the investigation of criminals as its theme,focus on the analysis of the application of three typical cases of detection methods,aim to promote the full application of criminal profiling in criminal investigation and perfection of criminal profiling system and operation standard and achieve to control and prevent crimes until criminality is reduced.This thesis is divided into three parts.The first part mainly introduces the background of criminal profiling.Firstly,the concept of criminal profiling is discussed,and its characteristics are summarized.Secondly,elaborating the theoretical foundation of criminal profiling,analyzing the science of its application and its practical value.The second part is focus on the application value of criminal profiling in murder cases,sexual crime cases and duty crime cases.Elucidating the difference between the three types of criminals which are criminal profiling applied in.It also uses the specific case to analysis.The third part mainly discusses the limitation of criminal profiling in the application of criminal investigation in our country,proposing to establish and improve the localization of criminal profiling system and operating standards,improving the relevant legislation,drawing lessons reasonably from the applied experience of criminal profiling in the foreign judicial field and so on,to promote the further development of criminal profiling in practical fields.
