Cyber-Financial crime involves using computers and internet by individuals to commit illegal activity.Cyber terrorism,identity theft and spam are known as categories of cybercrimes.Because of the computer age,the body of lawmakers has been struggling to redefine the law to fit crimes perpetuated by computer criminals.This crime is amongst the important and most famous evolving areas made from the law in many jurisdictions.The emergence of technology and online communication has not emphasizing produced a striking rise in the level of criminal action;the situation stemmed the rise of what seems recently discovered type of criminal activity.Both the rise in the occurrence of illegal activity and the likely advent of recent type of illegal activity create challenges for legal systems,alongside for law enforcement.This research will be looking at certain reasons for cyber financial crimes which include urbanization,unemployment and weak Implementation of cyber financial crime laws.The effects of cyber financial crimes on organizations,the country at large comprise reducing the competitive edge of organizations,waste of production time and destroy the reputation of the country.With Nigeria engaging in e-finance,there is a necessity for cyber financial crimes threat to be reduced if not totally abolished.Certain means of fighting such crimes include taking sensible procedures in safeguard ones property by assuring that firms protect their IT infrastructures;like Networks and computer systems,government should guarantee cyber financial crime laws are articulated and firmly adhered to and individuals should detect simple rules by ensuring antivirus protection on their computer systems.This research work will be studying the means and actions the Nigeria Government's is taking in preventing and punishing Cyber-financial crime activities.This research aim is to explore the various policies implemented and enacted by Nigeria Government in preventing and punishing of cyber financial crime among the citizens especially the youths.More specifically it analyses the history,causes,effects,types of cyber financial crime,it evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of the existing policy and laws against cyber financial crime,and recommends to experts and policy makers in the government relating to the findings of the study.Research questions that provide framework for the study are originated by coupling with the objectives.Beyond these,the significance of this study and research overview at home country and abroad is seen.Case study research design is employed for this study and core concepts and related they are reviewed.Structural-Functional Theory,Marxian Theory,Routine Activity Theory and the Theory of Technology-enabled crime.The next part deals with description of study area reasons,causes,effects of cyber-financial crime and policy framework towards preventing and eradicating of cyber-financial crime by Nigeria Government,problems and solution formulated in fighting this menace act.Then analysis of the study is briefly viewed.After data are meaningfully interpreted,major findings will be elaborated correlating to the findings recommendations are formulated.
