Evaluation Research Of Efficiency Of Fujian Independent Colleges Based On DEA

With the development of China higher education, how to improve the efficiency of higher education become a widespread topic of public concern. However, though independent college is a new mode of higher education, academic research on it is very little. In existing research, most of the literature involoved in the field of higher education in public colleges regard universities as the research object, rather than independent college, not to mention the evaluation of efficiency of independent college education. The evaluation index system of public university is clearly focused on scientific research, which is unreasonable for cultivating high-quality applied talents to the independent college.The only literatures of efficiency of running independent college are based on economics and measured by economics or finance accounting method which contribute to the strong model-support lacking and unobtainable quantitative improvement. Therefore, taking the independent colleges in Fujian province as the research object, this paper deeply analysizes the school-running efficiency of the independent colleges in Fujian province, with an aim to effectively offer decision basis for independent college administrators and to provide direction and reference for the further development of independent colleges in Fujian ProvinceThis paper's structure is as follows:first, it introduces the research background, significance and related theoretical knowledge. second, the paper makes an empirical analysis of 8 colleges in Fujian Province. According to the present situation of independent college in Fujian Province, the paper sets up efficiency evaluation index system which is suitable for independent college education at the present stage, using data envelopment analysis (DEA) method, the efficiency of objects are evaluated and sorted, had been calculated by the projection of DEA effective input redundancy and output deficiency of the independent college. At the same time, in one of the independent college Z, for example, to evaluate its nearly five years of running efficiency, with a dynamic perspective to analyze the running efficiency of Z. Finally, according to the results of DEA method to evaluate independent college to improve running efficiency of the specific countermeasures and suggestions.According to the research, Dongfang College, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University ranks highest on college running efficiency, while t Tan Kah Kee College, Xiamen University ranks lowest; 4 of the objects have a low overall efficiency,2 of which are caused by invalid scale efficiency, the other 2 are because of the pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency. In addition, the scale of invalid learned 4 places in scale of diminishing returns, all is excessive pursuit of scale; Lower pure technical efficiency values for two schools have slightly resources waste phenomenon. in addition,, the running efficiency of Z had been effective since 2008, but had an abrupt change to be invalid on overall efficiency in 2011, the overall efficiency become invalid, by the reason of receiving the mother school problems left over by history - produce a large number of support staff. Therefore, because of the complexity of the independent college development, this paper only apply to the present situation of independent college, hoping to get a good effort in efficiency of the independent college education research.
