MOOC(massive open online courses) are free online courses provided by universities aiming for higher education. Having courses online, which allow the students to study at home, break through the limit of time and place. Thus, MOOC have comparatively higher enrollments while also a higher dropout rates. On one hand, MOOC learning model breaks the information asymmetry, which means information is much more easier and quicker to interchange comparing to traditional offline learning model. Therefore, it can facilitate students to have an easy access to a large quantity of information online. On the other hand, MOOC transform the learning style instead of merely change the content. Exploring the connection of information become increasingly important, rather than memorizing, searching and discrimination information. Individuals can easily access to learning resources at anytime and anywhere, but they also lost the traditional studying atmosphere and physical environment, learning partners(students), real-time interaction between teachers and students, discussion after class between classmates, which means current MOOC learning model lays more emphasis on the way to convey course content which is more suitable for skill training rather than help student develop skill of cooperation and communication which can cultivate creativity and advanced critical thinking. This essay aims to reflect and extract the beneficial elements from traditional learning, especially elements from group learning in the framework of connectivism. Transform the key elements, which abstracted from traditional learning environment and the need of students, and combine them with the feature of computer network into achievable design. One is about the how learners communicated when they focus on the same specific content on video, another is about how to import outside data into learners' communication information flow.
