The Relationship Among The Middle School Students' Parenting Style Learning Habits Interpersonal Relationships And Academic Performance

Parenting style, academic performance and interpersonal relationship of middle school students has been the hot topic in the field of psychology and education. This study completed in the middle school students learning habits questionnaire. Based on the previous research and specific situation of the school, I investigated the present conditions of parenting style, learning habits and interpersonal relationship through the existing questionnaire and self-made questionnaire, and explored the relationship among the four. Findings are as follows:(1)The parenting style of father and mother has significant correlation. In father's parenting style, severe punishment, excessive interference, refusal and denial and excessive protection, these four dimensions show significant differences in gender, while mother's parenting style has significant gender differences on refusal and denial.(2)Some dimensions of parenting style has significant grade differences.(3)There is a significant difference between boys and girls on learning habits:girls' learning habits is better than boys'. Students' learning habits also has significant differences on class and grade.(4)On the whole, students' academic performances have no significant differences in gender. For each subject, girls' English and geography scores are significantly higher than boys'. And academic performance differs greatly between classes.(5)Students' interpersonal relationship differs greatly according to gender and class. And all the factors in parenting style show significant difference on students' interpersonal relationship.(6)The parents' emotional warmth and understanding has significant positive correlation with their children' academic performance, while parents' preference shows significant negative correlation with it. Learning habits have mediation effect on the influence which father's emotional warmth has on interpersonal relationships.Finally, I rethink the shortcomings of this research from the perspective of the research object and research method, and has a outlook of the future research.
