The Research On The Relationship Between Parenting Style And Academic Self-efficacy

Family environment plays an important role as the first environment for the pupils,it is the most critical factor for pupils' growth.Family environment factor will have an effect on pupils'academic self-efficacy.It will influence pupils' cognition and emotion directly,thus influences the attitude of learning,as well as their fully understanding and evaluation of the self-learning ability.The research started with the family factors,we explored the parenting styles and academic self-efficacy.A total of 330 participants were tested by questionnaires in order to explore the relationship between parenting styles and the academic self-efficacy.The results of study are as follows:1.Parents tend to take a "Sympathetic understanding modal" as their method.In the exploration of the relationship between the father's education,vocation and the parenting styles he chose,father's education correlated significantly with "Sympathetic Understanding" modal.2.There is grade difference in the parenting styles,compared with the Grade Five students,the Grade Six students' parenting style of parents' punishment,parents' refused and denied,and over interference are increasing.There is gender difference in the parenting styles,girls' parents prefer the "Sympathetic understanding" modal,the boys' parents chose parents' punishment,parents'refused and denied,and over interference and protection a bit more than the girls'.3.Generally speaking,the academic self-efficacy of the primary school students is in higher medium.There is gender difference in academic self-efficacy,the girls' are higher than the boys'.Especially the behavior academic self-efficacy.There is grade difference in academic self-efficacy,the Grade Five students' are higher than the Grade Six students'.4.Primary school students' academic self-efficacy has a significant positive correlation with parents' sympathetic and understanding.The negative parenting style,such as parents'punishment,refused and denied,has a significant negative correlation.5.There is a close link between Parenting style and academic self-efficacy.
