According to the New Curriculum Reform, it is emphasized that the teaching philosophy of being knowledge-oriented and the assessment way of being score-oriented are supposed to be improved. Students' capability development and personality development are paid more attention to in teaching activities. Experiential learning is categorized into one of teaching methods which is based on the laws of learners' cognitive development, carried out in real context, focusing on experiencing and generation, and aiming at students' growth. Numerous teachers of Biology teaching in high school are attempting to effectively apply Experiential learning into Biology teaching.The paper, based on detailed research literature, presents the development of experiential learning and current research situations. Through an analysis of specific teaching cases, the paper discovers the weak points in current research of experiential design in high school Biology teaching and clears the research concerns and innovative points. Some terms like experience, experiential learning and experiential learning design are defined, and a theoretical background of experiential learning in high school Biology teaching is detailed. A general idea of experiential learning design is summarized and teaching designs for some part of Biology classes are tried in light of specific cases. Finally, interviews with teachers and students during internship and discussions with the thesis supervisor help to create an effective teaching design which may increase students' interest, better the class teaching climate, improve their memories of knowledge they've learned. Actually, many factors such as teaching styles and teaching conditions may affect the effectiveness of experiential learning design. For this, teachers have to increase their own professional qualities, study textbooks, learning about students and further education theories.Generally, experiential learning is unique when it comes to deepening students' understanding of Biology and improving their personalities. Experiential learning, of both theoretical and practical significance, is one learning way worth popularizing in high school Biology teaching.
