Computer games have succeeded in attracting players, especially young players due to realistic virtual scenarios, carefully designed tasks, more complete experience and so on. Young people spend a lot of time, energy and money on computer game. Game business made profits from computer games, which have caused many social problems, which commonly attracted social attention.Human can not refuse games which play a most important role in the personal growth. In order to make computer games to play positive impact on the developing of young generation, educational game research is becoming more and more important. Recent years, more and more researchers in universities at home(foreign studies already exist and continue in-depth)have been dedicating to explore the educational potential of games and then use educational games for education. Relative research is increasing and continuing on. Meanwhile, some companies have been investing a lot of manpower and funds to develop a lot of educational games." The wisdom of the world","learning from Lei Feng","true knowledge to explore","Learaing Academy","Scholastic" are best educational games now. Their are many forms of educational games, but the teaching results of educational games are not significant. The development of educational game face dilemma. Although their are many complicated factors to hinder the development of educational games, the main reason lies in our existing examination-oriented education system which use the test scores as evaluation criteria to value children’s performance in school, educational games cannot be used in classroom extensively. At the same time, many educational games’ contents are not accordance with learning contents, the process of playing game and the learning process are separated. How to design and develop educational games which can integrate learning content in one subject, how to integrate the learning process into the process of game are becoming more urgent problem yet to be solved. This research’s aims are explore how to integrate educational games into discipline-specific content, how to integrate the learning process into the process of the gaming. This research use experiential learning theory as basic theory to guide the process of the educational game design. In this study, through systematic literature analysis of the experiential learning theory, i use instructional design theory and game design theory to guide the teaching game design pattern and design process. This research is divided into the following six parts:The first part:introduction. First fully understanding the current research status of educational games at home and abroad through literature analysis and determine the direction of this study. Secondly, the research background, the current research status of how to design educational games and the development of experiential learning theory at home and abroad. Finally, the significance of this research and research methods. The second part:defining the relevant concepts and elaborated the relevant theories. The main concepts of this paper are:games, educational games, instructional games, and describing the concept of instructional game in this research. Relevant theories:inquiry-based learning theory, situated learning theory, motivation theory of game and flow theory. The third partelaboration experiential learning theory, systematic elaboration and analysis the experiential learning theory, the development of experiential learning theory, the characteristics of the experiential learning theory and experiential learning theory’s guiding role in educational game design. The fourth part:instructional game design model and process. Using the instructional design theory and game design theory to design instructional game design patterns which based on experiential learning theory then systematically analyse the process of instructional game design. The fifth part:design a real instructional game base on the design model and process in the fourth part. The sixth part:conclusion. it is an overall analysis and conclusion for this study, and put forward the shortcomings of the present study and future research directions.
