This article aims to study the application of Howard Gardner's Multiple-Intelligence Theory in junior middle school English teaching. According to my two-year-teaching experience and years of learning experience, I find the teaching methods of nowadays differs little from traditional English teaching decade ago, which is didactic and ineffective, having made students suffer from dull recitation.Traditional English teaching develops students'language intelligence, which is the only intelligence that is used in English classes. I am trying to explore a new mode of English teaching, making English classes more interesting and more efficient, in this study. Students would be motivated in English learning and improve their practical English by taking the advantages of superior intelligence. This would reduce the mute English in students.Literature research, questionnaire survey, action research method and case study are used in this paper. I read a lot of literature about Multiple-Intelligence and figured out the application of this theory worldwide before the experiment. That helps laying a solid theoretical foundation for the study. I conducted a control experiment between two classes under the guidance of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in five months. In the test group, a student-centered questionnaire was held to survey students'intelligence situation. New educational methods to stimulate students'Superior Intelligence was taken while the compare group was teaching by traditional ways. The assessment method was not only the test score, but also introduced a questionnaire, forming the evaluation of English study situation. The final experimental result shows that students of test group had their English scores, learning interests and initiative improved after a series of teaching methods were taken. In conclusion, English teaching model, strategy and teaching program under the guidance of the Multiple-Intelligences Theory is feasible and effective.I indicated that the results of this experiment, anyway, is limited. Considering the lack of my experience, abilities and the deficiency of test sample, this result may be defective. Farther researches are required to consummate the application of the Multiple-Intelligence Theory in English education.
