The course standards of junior biology emphasize on the teaching of concept. Because of this, students should master those concepts and the knowledge hierarchy which is made up by those concepts. Therefore, teachers should explore those teaching and learning strategy tactics which make students learn to learn. A survey shows that concept map strategy is good for students to understand those concepts and the relationships among them.Besides, the process of charting is similar to the way of thinking, thus it promotes students to learn effectively. We can draw the conclusion that concept map strategy is meaningful for teaching and learning strategy of junior Biology.This thesis is based on the Biology teaching of local places and the analysis of related concept map research home and abroad. I combed the definition, the types, the features and working principles of the concept map,and explores the evidence of theory which supports the concept map teaching strategy. Three kinds of teaching cases based on it are designed, they are used for new classes, review classes and commenting classes. Among the cases, we call up students to join in and to explore actively in order to cultivate the ability of students to collect and process information, to analyze and solve the problems, to communicate and cooperate. The purpose of this is to make students learning independently.Making concept map makes students focus on the relationships between concepts by themselves, build reasonable knowledge frame. Making conceptmap is an activity that concludes acquired knowledge. This paper shows detailed suggestions and executes solutions which can help junior high school students on Biology. And hope that it can develop some good habits of learning for students.After completely researching the concept map, the author finds that concept map is pretty good for students to get higher grades on Biology. It's also good for students to express themselves and communicate better. It's better for teamwork. It is good to teach and understand concepts for teachers and students. It makes students learn more independently.
