This study is a practical research of Concept Map Teaching conducted at Lincang City National Middle School.The teaching experiment research and questionnaire survey method were combined in this study to explore whether the Concept Map Teaching method is more effective than the conventional teaching method for improving students' academic performance,improving students' interest in learning and enabling students to acquire systematic knowledge.In this study,four classes of Grade 8,which have no significant difference in learning situation,were selected as experimental subjects.Among them,both of classes were used as control classes which were going to be taught with conventional teaching methods.The anothe two classes were used as experimental classes,which were going to be taught with Concept Map Teaching method.The lessons include the new lesson,review lesson,and teaching and evaluation lesson.At the end of the experiment,a questionnaire survey and a test were conducted on the teaching effect,that is the performance of the students,and the results were analyzed.The results of the experimental research show that:(1)Concept Map Teaching can improve students' interest in learning.It makes use of students ' interest in making Concept Map and the sense of accomplishment produced by making Concept Map to stimulate students' interest in learning biology,so that more students like biology and the biology teaching methods.(2)Concept Map Teaching can improve students' academic performance and improve their excellent rate.(3)Concept Map Teaching can effectively promote students' communication and exchange,and change students' learning status and learning style.(4)Concept Map Teaching can improve the learning effect of students,deepen the understanding of the concepts of each chapter,and promote systematic learning of students.
