Chemistry, as we know, is an important part of the science education, so it is necessary to pay great attention to students' active learning during the teaching process. Thereby, student would be able to obtain knowledge and skills by contacting with social life and understand the relevant issues of science, technology, society and life from chemical aspect, ultimately developing the students' scientific literacy and forming the scientific values.The topic in this paper was proposed on the basis of reading large amounts of literature. Analysis on the research status of chemical basic concepts both at home and abroad was conducted, and the content, characteristics and training strategy of the chemistry basic concept in junior high school were summed up. The investigation and study described in the third chapter, on the chemical basic concept of 9th grade graduates and teachers had been carried out in order to understand the status of the basic ideas of chemistry teachers and students at present stage. The results showed that the chemical basic ideas of students were urgent to be improved, and there are still some defects in the chemistry teachers' opinion, understanding and utilization towards chemical basic concept. The fourth chapter has shown the practical teaching research on the construction of junior high school students' chemistry basic ideas.First of all, the research plan was put forward, and then in-deep analysis on the chemical teaching books published by People's Education Press was made for the sake of concept construction. Following that, the teaching design and classroom teaching practice were carried out according to the teaching design procedure of constructing ideas.To evaluate the effect of teaching practice based on the chemical concept construction, achievements of students in experimental class were compared with that of students in blank control class, and questionnaires about the status of the students' chemical basic concepts were distributed in the school. It turned out that students in the experimental class not only had done a better job in achievements but also were more capable of thinking, analyzing and solving problem, ultimately promoting the formation of students' chemical basic concepts.
