| With market economy rapidly developing, countryside inevitably is affected by the economic development. Moral culture in the countryside is facing great challenge. The moral system built by traditional customs is falling apart. Moral is something that makes a real man and also an important part of education system. The Morality and Society curriculum is to educate students in the countryside in their childhood about their morality. With a survey conducted in countryside primary schools in Fuliang county, I hope I can some problems during the curriculum implementation and put forward some suggestions.I have made use of literature analysis and questionnaire to do the survey. First of all, I looked through the study at home and abroad of morality education in the countryside and based on these, I defined countryside and morality education in my own way. Then I conducted my questionnaire in four primary schools in Fuliang. Results show that in general, the current situation of the curriculum implementation is good. Firstly, students like the curriculum as well as the teacher who teaches the curriculum. Secondly, students are doing well in their moral performance, which means the morality education works. However, there are also some problems. There are also many problems. First, the cultivation of students’ feelings and values are not enough. Students are not well aware of the importance of caring the nature. And teachers didn’t make full use of school’s geological advantage. There are not many after-class activities during the curriculum. Second, the content is not very close to the countryside life. Third, as for the resources development of the curriculum, schools didn’t make full use of the environment and social resources. Forth, as for the teaching method, most teachers were still teaching strictly according to the book. Fifth, as for the teachers, there are no professional teachers for this curriculum. Sixth, during the survey, many students think the method of curriculum feedback is just one-way.The essay has also put forward some suggestions. First, since teachers are not professional for this curriculum, schools should organize teachers to learn the curriculum goals in order to improve their teaching. Second, teachers should add some specific content based on the environment. Third, teachers should make use of the geological advantage in the countryside and hold various after-class activities to enrich their teaching. Forth, teachers should adopt more accepting methods such as acting and speaking to teach. Fifth, government should cultivate professional teachers for this curriculum and increase their salary. Sixth, apart from the teachers’feedback, students should be able to give themselves some feedback. |
