Chinese Teaching is very popular in Thailand. Many primary and secondary school have opened the Chinese class. However, there are many problems in Chinese teaching. Secondary school Chinese teaching was influenced by the college entrance examination. Teachers were focused on grammar and vocabulary. Students can pass the exam, but they cannot use the language to communicate with others. The author attempts to study the Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), hope that students use language as a tool to communicate. This teaching method aims at cultivating the communicative competence. CLT is based on the function of the language, focused on the training, the students is the center of the class. CLT through a variety of real communication or simulation classroom activities are the good training opportunity for students to communicate in Chinese. The author believes that CLT is one the most suitable teaching method in Chinese teaching in Thailand. However, CLT is not been paid enough attention to use in Chinese teaching, so the author chooses CLT to study.This paper based on the author's experience in teaching Chinese in Saraburiwitthayakhom School, Thailand, concluding the rise and the development of CLT, the characteristics of CLT and the currently researches of CLT in the second language teaching, discussing the currently situation of CLT in secondary school Chinese teaching in Thailand, analyzing the situation of Chinese teaching in Thailand, Chinese teaching indicators and contents and also analyzing the teaching method in Chinese class. This paper also introduces CLT classroom activities, the application of CLT promoted to secondary school Chinese teaching in Thailand, using CLT in Saraburiwitthayakhom School, teaching effects and suggestions for improvement. It is emphasized that should be promoting CLT to secondary school Chinese teaching in Thailand.
