With the implementation of the "Silk Road" development strategy and the rising tide of "Chinese fever",the cause of teaching Chinese as a second language is growing vigorously all over the world,and there are countless Chinese learners.As an active supporter and practitioner of Chinese international promotion,Thailand's Chinese education is developing rapidly.During the teaching process of Prayaprasert School in Thailand,the author found that most of the students are good at taking exams,but can't use the Chinese they have learned to communicate with others.Therefore,the author hopes to improve students' communicative competence and Thai Chinese teaching quality through the study of classroom teaching methods.The traditional teaching method takes teachers as the center,knowledge as the focus,and focuses on the cultivation of students' reading and writing ability.The teaching effect is not satisfactory.The Communicative Approach is student-centered,with language functions and mental projects as the core,and with the goal of cultivating students' communicative ability,so that students can master language knowledge and learn how to use it at the same time.The application of Communicative Approach to Chinese teaching is not only conducive to improving students' interest in learning but also to cultivating students' communicative competence.Based on the analyzes and researches the concept of "communicative competence" proposed by American sociolinguist D.H.Hymes and the relevant literature,the author attempts to apply the Communicative Approach to Chinese teaching in Prayaprasert School in Thailand,with the purpose of exploring the effectiveness of the Communicative Approach and proposing practical suggestions for the improvement of Chinese classroom teaching.The thesis is divided into six chapters based on the author's practical experience in teaching Chinese at Prayaprasert School in Thailand.Firstly,it introduces the research background,research purpose,research status and research methods of the thesis.Secondly,it introduces the definition,characteristics and related teaching activities of Communicative Approach,and expounds the feasibility of using Communicative Approach in Prayaprasert School based on the current situation of Chinese teaching in Prayaprasert School in Thailand.Then,a survey is conducted around the practical application of Communicative Approach in Chinese classroom,with students in 3/5 and 3/6 two classes of Prayaprasert School as thesubjects.By means of questionnaire survey and comparative experiment,the effectiveness of communicative teaching method in Chinese classroom teaching is explored by sorting and analyzing the questionnaire survey results and test scores before and after the teaching experiment in two classes.Finally,the author puts forward the advantages and disadvantages of Communicative Approach and suggestions for its application according to the problems existing in chapter three and chapter four and points out the shortcomings of the thesis.
