From the angle of junior high school chemistry, chemical structure and chemical concepts are inseparable. Concept map is a conceptual diagram showing the hierarchy of the network structure and the conceptual links between concepts. The manner what concepts are sorted is in line with the hierarchy of the brain of junior high school students, helps learners to understand and to pay attention and promotes meaningful learning. In the study "The Application of Concept Map for Junior High School Chemistry ",a growing number of researchers have proposed the confusions and difficulties that occur when chemistry teachers design a concept map:missing concept, disordering conceptual structure and unclear relationships between concepts. Listing textbook knowledge or concepts and showing a correlation between the concept and the level by ISM has given to the final level diagram between concepts. This method can solve the problems in the designing concept maps. Therefore, the research presents a new idea that chemistry teachers design concept map by ISM.This study analyzes the advantages of ISM and questions what teachers make the concept map by documentary research method.Based on these survey results,we explore the better designing concept map combined with ISM method. Under the direction of cognitivism,constructivism and dual coding theory guidance,the junior high school chemistry in accordance with the general process of designing concept map should take full advantages of the ISM method.The designing process of concept map based on the ISM for junior high school chemistry is presented in this research and given an explanation of the importance in the teaching and learning method. It is selected PEP ninth grade chemistry textbook as two teaching topics in this study and applicable to teaching process and learning plan by concept map based on the ISM.The effect of the implementation of activities shows that concept map based on ISM can reasonably guide the process of teaching and student learning.The study is expected to optimize the forms and methods of the concept map in junior high school chemistry,enhance the conceptual diagram of science and objectivity, and promote the process of ISM method in education and teaching.
