ObjectiveThe maximal oxygen uptake(VO2max)is considered as a gold standard for measurement of cardiorespiratory fitness.The direct measurement of VO2max is accurate.However,the direct measurement of VOmax is difficult,exhausted and rather complicated for large population.Soseveral indirect measurements have been developed.This research aims to develop a regression model to estimate VO2max by 20m shuttles run(20-MST)for adults,moreover,based on the regression model,achieving the manufacture of the zoom table.Method479 adults aged 20-39 years performed the 20-MST.Each participant's VO2max was measured directly by gas analyzer.At the same time,each participant should complete the 20-MST.A portable gas analyzer should be worn for the sake of precision.DiscussionThe correlation coefficient between the predicted VO2max and mcasured VO2max is 0.82,male 0.81 and female 0.765 respectively.Stepwise regression analysis was used to predict VO2max.The regression equation is y=0.262s+0.022w-0.211g-2.178 R2=0.753(s=maximal speed in 20-MST,w=weight,g=gender).The input is:gender,weight and maximal speed in 20-MST.Through back test,there is no significant difference between measured value and predicted value.Moreover,the zoom table has been built based this regression model.Conclusion20m shuttles run is a simple,convenient and effective indirect measurement for VO2max.The effect of this regression equation is well.The zoom table is convenient and practical.
