Maximal oxygen uptake is the most commonly used and representative indexes to evaluate the cardiovascular function. The method of testing maximal oxygen uptake can be divided into direct measurement and indirect measurement. The indirect measurement requires lower test site and equipment, but the fitting degree between the test results and the real values need to be further confirmed. So this research compares differences and correlation of aerobic capacity between treadmill test directly and modified10m shuttle walking test (10SWT) on20-29years old adults. The purpose of this study was to explore the scientific and feasible of10SWT calculating V02max of20-29years old adults. This study selected102healthy adults of20-29years old. The basic personal information and the PAR-Q questionnaire were distributed to subjects to ensure their safety in the experiment. The morphological index of subjects were measured by student physique monitor. The V02max, oxygen saturation and quiet blood pressure were measured by treadmill, portable cardiopulmonary exercise testing instrument and dynamic12lead ECG. The peak oxygen uptake, blood pressure before and after exercise, walking time, walking distance and subjective feeling of fatigue degree of subjects were measured by heart and lung function instrument, the portable blood pressure meter and stopwatch. The SPSS16.0for Windows software package was used for data analysis. Karl Smirno test analyses normal distribution and Pearson correlation analyse single variable.Results:1. The average of V02max and relativel Vo2Peak of Bruce treadmill test has little difference with V02max and relativel Vo2Peak in10SWT, but the difference was not significant.2. The linear relationship of V02max between Bruce treadmill test and the modified10SWT is outstanding. There is a moderate relationship between peak oxygen and oxygen(r=0.498-0.587), and the relative value correlation was significant. The average of highest rate of Bruce treadmill test has little difference with highest rate in10SWT. The difference was not significant between men, but differences between the female and the total sample was significant. Conclusion:1. There is no significant difference between individual V02max and Vo2Peak of the modified10SWT, and heart rate has also reached the maximum rate of individual. Individual V02max and Vo2Peak of the modified10SWT was highly correlated.2. The regression equation has been established:y=-0.343+0.174*turn back time (min)+0.977*gender(R=0.916, R2=0.839, corrected R2=0.835, SEE=±0.481/min, male=1, female=0)...
