Purpose:Based on the perspective from fat oxidation, research on the exercise intensity eliciting maximal fat oxidation and discuss the effect of gender, body fat percentage and body function levels on exercise intensity of the maximum fat oxidation and maximum fat oxidation using the experimental method. This theoretical about best exercise amount-effect relation will been establish from this study, which can provide a reference for the selection of a more reasonable exercise intensity. Methods:Experimental method is employed firstly to measure maximal oxygen uptake by testing19students’ breathing metabolic indices, who do continuous incremental exercise on a treadmill(boys start at7km/h, incremental margin:1km/3.5min; girls start at6km/h, incremental margin1km/3.5min; level slope remain unchanged; until their respiratory quotients rise to1.00, they should run at the beginning speed of7km/h for3min). After30seconds in different level of intensity, the body’s02intake and CO2exhale amounts are used to calculate the amount of body fat oxidation under each level of intensity. And then the trinomial fitting method is taken to determine the variation curve of body fat oxidation amount and the exercise intensity. Next, the corresponding exercise intensity for the body’s largest amount of fat oxidation will be determined. Observe the whole variation curve of body fat oxidation amount and the exercise intensity, and compare the maximum fat oxidation and maximum exercise intensity. In addition, the relationship between the maximum fat oxidation&the fat oxidation strength and maximal oxygen uptake&the body fat content is to be discussed. All of the data using SPSS11.0for Windows software, Data are presented as means and standard deviations statistical methods using paired T-test. Significant difference P≤0.05Results:1. From the basic information of the subjects, there are obvious differences between girls and boys in height, weight and fat-free mass; the boys were higher than female, so girls’body fat percentage and body fat amount are significantly higher than boys’. However, boys have higher absolute value (1/min) and relative value(ml/min/kg) of maximal oxygen uptake than girls. In Lean body mass, girls have a lower relative value of oxygen uptake than boys, but there is no significant difference.2. The corresponding strength to the absolute value of the maximum fat oxidation lies between60%-65%VO2max. Under the exercise intensity of40%,80%and85%, for boys there’s no the fat oxidation value. However, in relatively the same program, for girls there is fat oxidation value of the corresponding intensity.During the increasing intensity sustained movement, the maximum fat oxidation per kilogram of weight corresponds to the exercise intensity between60-65%VO2max. There was no difference in the maximum amount of fat oxidation between girls and boys. Under the different intensity, there are some differences between fat-free mass boys and girls at fat oxidation. Numerically girls have higher fat oxidation than boys, though statistically it makes no difference. The maximum value of fat oxidation per kilogram of lean body still occurs in the intensity range of60-65%VO2max. At55%VO2max exercise intensity, girls’ relative fat oxidation was significantly higher than boys’.3. For boys and girls in this research, there was no difference in the relative intensity of fat oxidation:64.86%VO2max for boys, and63.26%VO2max for girls. However, boys have a higher absolute intensity than girls. By mean trinomial fitting results, there’s no significant difference between boys and girls at the maximum fat oxidation and the maximum fat oxidation exercise intensity, both the absolute and relative values.4. At the same intensity, the absolute value of maximum fat oxidation (g/min) is positively correlated with maximal oxygen uptake. A higher maximal oxygen uptake matches with a higher maximum fat oxidation. However, in relative value there is no obvious correlation between the maximum fat oxidation and maximal oxygen uptake. There is no obvious correlation between maximum fat oxidation strength and maximal oxygen uptake in both the absolute value (g/min) and relative value (ml/min/kg).5. Maximum fat oxidation has little relevance to body fat; maximum fat oxidation strength and body fat have no obvious correlation.Conclusions:1. From the subjects of this research, the intensity of maximum fat oxidation lies in60-65%VO2max: boys64.86%±4.33V02max and girls63.26%±3.26VO2max.2. Although there was no difference in exercise intensity for girls’and boys’ maximum fat oxidation, under the same intensity of oxygen uptake girls have a higher fat oxidation per kilogram lean body weight than boys.3. The absolute value of maximum fat oxidation and maximal oxygen uptake holds positive correlation; there is no obvious relations between the maximum fat oxidation strength and maximal oxygen uptake; the maximum of fat oxidation and the maximum fat oxidation strength respectively has little relation with body fat.
