Study On Spatial Distribution And Cultural Characteristics Of Traditional Village In Jiangxi Province

With the acceleration of urbanization development of the country, a large number of traditional villages are constantly disappearing. In order to protect the traditional villages nationwide, the Ministry of Housing, the Ministry of Culture, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and the Ministry of Finance selected and announced the first list of Chinese Traditional Villages in 2012, totally three lists till now. There are total 125 traditional villages located in Jiangxi province. Based on GIS technology platform and with the application of mathematical statistical method, the paper analyzes the spatial distribution characteristics of the traditional villages in Jiangxi and the influencing factors. From the perspective of geography vertical three-dimension, village driven mechanism longitudinal perspective and cultural region horizontal perspective, it classifies the village types, analyzes the characteristics of various types of villages and illustrates the cultural connotation of traditional villages.The results show that:(1) The spatial distribution of Jiangxi Traditional Village is in a state of agglomeration and obvious different in different districts. There are two gathering areas, namely Wuyuan county in the northeast of Jiangxi, Nanchang-Jinxian-Fengcheng intersection area, and three secondary concentrated areas that are Jinxi County of Fuchou city, Ji'an downtown district and Ji'an County;(2) The distribution of the traditional villages are also affected by the natural environmental factors and there is a certain correlation between them, villages with high-high altitude clustering, low-low clustering. The majority of villages are located along the river direction;(3) It's closely related to social and environmental factors, nearly half the number of villages are far distant from the city or the county which are in economically underdeveloped regions where the traffic is not convenient, and protection planning of these regions needs to be improved;(4) Village location factors affect the natural environment, from vertical three-dimensional geographic point of view, based on topography and elevation of the traditional villages of the province can be divided into the plain villages, hill villages and mountain villages, as well as plain-flat villages, plain-shoal villages, hill-valley villages, hill-waterfront villages, hill-hummock villages, mountain-valley villages and mountain-plateau villages;(5) According to the angle formed and driven mechanism longitudinally the traditional villages can be sorted into five types, namely family farming-readable villages, official-fed villages, business-oriented villages, defensive self-protection villages, derivative-split villages.(6) From the perspective of cultural district the traditional villages can be classified into Huizhou villages, Gan-po village, and Hakka villages, and the cultural connotation, the architectural style, the customs of different types also be elucidated.
