As a type of education, to promote students' comprehensive development is a basic requirement of higher vocational education. Meanwhile, higher vocational education is not an isolated existence, embodying its function in constant interaction with the society.With the arrival of information age, the technology becomes more knowledgeable and comprehensive. Our industrial structure is experiencing a transform to technology-intensive and knowledge-intensive industry, along with which, the enterprise technology upgrading and innovation,as well as career change have a requirement that technical workers should own certain cultural knowledge base to fit in with the needs of the society. So it's necessary to strength the construction of academic courses in higher vocational education.Firstly, analyze the functions of academic curriculum in higher vocational education and form a clear idea on its importance. Elaborate cultivating objective of higher vocational education, which has expressed requirements for academic curriculum. Then define the necessity to construct academic curriculum further.Through survey method and literature analysis, the research on the situation of the construction of academic courses is conducted, and some outstanding issues,for example, the curriculum is not scientific, the textbook is a little patchy in terms of quality, the teaching material content is lack of professional characteristics, the teaching resource is poor, teaching quality is low and the quantity of double-qualified teachers are few are found in higher vocational education. To summarize the reasons of the problems, cognitive deviation, little care about academic courses, lack of top-level design and planning, imperfect system of textbook management and weak teaching staff construction are not to be ignored.Based on this, through literature analysis and comparative method, present countermeasures to reform the academic courses in higher vocational education. We should focus on strengthening the planning and construction management of the academic courses and the cohesion between academic courses and major courses, attaching importance to the development of school curriculum, making good use of modern information technology such as MOOCs to enrich learning resource and paying attention to the " double-qualified " academic course teachers training. To protect the construction of academic curriculum reform carrying in a smooth way, the article puts forward a proposal that the president's curriculum leadership of higher vocational education schools should be promoted, a cooperation platform between academic courses teachers and major courses teachers should be established, the academic courses teachers training system should be established and improved.
