Vocational education serves economic and scientific development. In turn, economic and scientific development have effect on the thoughts and theories of vocational education, thus influencing its development and transformation. They provide challenges as well as convenience for the reform and development of vocational education. The rapid development of economy in western developed countries cannot leave that of their vocational education. Since the reform and open policy was carried out, universally acknowledged achievements have been made in China's economy and science, to which our vocational education has made obvious contributions. However, with the deepening of the reform, our vocational education reform has fallen behind, especially in curriculum reforms.With the productive forces improving, the science and technology advancing and the economy developing, I think our vocational education curriculum reform should be carried on unceasingly, as it is a dynamic process, which cannot be stopped at a certain stage. The establishment of life-long education idea lays theoretical foundation for the vocational education curriculum reform. The birth of a thought in study domain provides a new attempt for the contents of the curriculum reform. The need for talents in information age decides the change of professional technical workers into humanities technology workers in the 21st century. Therefore, the vocational education curriculum reform should be based on the training of overall qualities and comprehensive professional qualities, to make those who receive vocational education meet the need of society and their own development. That is the reform agent and goal, and also the viewpoint this article elaborates.In vocational education curriculum reform, how to turn students' potentialities into realistic professional qualities in order to adapt to social, political, economical, cultural, and scientific development is a practical topic which needs deep research and urgent solution. This article deals with it in several parts.The first part outlines vocational education curriculum connotation. By elaborating the concept and characteristics of vocational education reform, it makes theoretical preparation for the following curriculum reform thoughts. The second part makes an analysis of the problems in our vocational education curriculum reform in the present stage. It involves target selection, structure system, contents, implementation and evaluation of the curriculum.In the last part, I put forward my own ideas on the vocational education curriculum reform in China in six aspects, that is, target, value orientation, strategy selection, principles to be followed, patterns, and the structure of curriculum system and contents.
