Freudenthal's Thought In Mathematics Education

Since the 1960 s,the Dutch mathematician and educator,Freudenthal's education theory is attracted much concern.His theory mainly includes two aspects-curriculum theory(which advocates using ‘curriculum' to replace ‘education development')and didactic(which proposes learning the mathematics is human's activity,RME,Mathematical teaching phenomenon,etc).His theory also emphasizes the principal part in the class is student.Guiding by Freudenthal's education theory,the Dutch mathematics education has developed rapidly and gained great achievements.With continuously developing and reforming in domestic mathematics education,many educators use the advanced experience for reference in teaching the math gradually.First of all,the research analyses Freudenthal's education theory from the two aspects mentioned above and its influence as well.On this base,comparing Chinese mathematic education theory with Dutch one on precipitation of Freudenthal's education theory through video course ware of “the Pythagorean proposition”,it concludes some hints for domestic mathematics education.Finally,the author puts out a design based on RME theory-take ‘variable' for example.This design is an application of the research's results,which needs practice and modify further.To summarize the research mentioned above,we conclude that development of teaching should be a continual circulation throughout constant researching and practicing.As for study of Freudenthal's education theory,we should combine it with our national conditions to promote that development of domestic mathematics education.The educators should use the part we need.So we should combine our conditions with learning Freudenthal's education theory and use the part we need of RME theory.
