The Research On Motivation And Effect Of College Students Indulge In Online Games

Due to the significant improving of internet technology,it boosts the online game fast development.Furthermore,university students as the main customers of online game which positioned in an irreplaceable role in those students mind.Online game as a double-edged sword,it can make them to enjoy fun.Meanwhile,it brings some negative effect to students on studying and living.Then what are the root causes of addicting on online games? As a consequence,we have to solving it on addicting motivations.The research approaches the solution by literature analysis and questionnaires.The survey paper questionnaires are considered not only on international and domestic online games surveys but also do some self-made questionnaires about motivation of playing online games.The survey distributed students study on different college on each grade.For examples,Jiangxi University of Science and Technology,Gannan Normal University,School of Applied Science in Jiangxi University of Science and Technology and Jiangxi Environmental Engineering Vocational College.As a result,there were 688 valid samples have been collected after preliminary sifting.Based on surveys result,the motivations were concluded as follows.Firstly,motivations of entertainment,proud of achievement,exploration of role-exploration,motivation of escaping from reality,motivation of being simply intoxicated in the game and activation of social interaction are the most important reasons.Secondly,beside the motivations can be significantly distinct in terms of gender,grade,major,sources of students,time of playing daily,academic performance,gaming experience and personalities.Thirdly,different motivations can cause different positive or negative effects.Based on the above analysis,the reason of phenomenon has discussed in the paper.Meanwhile,the paper also provided some suggestions to motivation of online game which occurred negative influence to college students.Firstly,increasing the reasonable understanding about online game for themself.Also,improving their monitoring ability and recovery ability are very important.Secondly,society better more concern about university students' mental demand,entertainment demand,social demand and achievement demand.
