New curriculum reform advocates training the self-diagnosis ability for the students. The writer found under traditional teaching mode, the students had poor self-diagnosis ability. For the review of chemistry class, among the students of the third year of middle school, mind mapping is more efficient than traditional cramming method and it can improve the self-diagnosis ability for the students efficiently. Self-diagnosis is the efficient way for students to understand and improve themselves. By diagnosing their thinking processes and thought results, the students can find the existing difficulties in their study and the deficiencies in their study methods, so they can find out the methods for solving the difficulties. The mind mapping shows the thinking process. During making the mind mapping, the students can establish clear links among the knowledge point. They can understand the knowledge well and can improve their thinking ability. By comparing the mind mapping with other students, they can improve their mind mappings, can find out the deficiencies in their knowledge and can find out the solutions to improve their self-diagnosis abilities. The paper mainly studies the influences to the self-diagnosis ability of students which are made by the review model of mind mappingBy surveying self-diagnosis abilities among the two classes students of third year of middle school in a district key middle school in a municipality directly under the central government and by analyzing the survey result, the paper found even the students in key middle school, they have such conditions-poor self-diagnosis consciousness and poor self-diagnosis strategy and result. By taking key review content in chemistry class of third year of middle school, "acid, base and salt" and "carbon and its oxide", the paper compared the review method of mind mapping with the traditional review method and it invested the changing situation of self-diagnosis ability among the students of experimental class and parallel class. It's shown that the students in the experimental class improved obviously their self-diagnosis consciousness and their self-diagnostic strategy and result also improved greatly. For the students of parallel class, their diagnosis ability improved a little; their self-diagnosis consciousness improved a lot, but self-diagnosis strategy and result improved a little, which meant although the student in the parallel class realized the importance of self-diagnosis, they have not effective self-diagnosis strategy, so the self-diagnosis result is not ideal. The students in the experimental class used the mind mapping which can help them to make the self-diagnosis effectively and can help them to find out the deficiencies in time, so the students can get the good diagnosis result. In this paper, there are five chapters. In chapter one, the introduction part, this paper expounds the study background and meaning and it made the literature review. The chapter two is the theoretical basis of the study and it reveals the related theories about the mind mapping and self-diagnosis to form the basic framework for the study. In chapter three, it expounds the basic design process for the study, including study purpose, study object, study thought, study method and the exploitation for study tools and so on. In chapter four, it states the study result; after making the before-and-after test of self-diagnosis ability for the students in the experimental class and comparative class, it draws a conclusion from the correlation data and interview. The chapter five is the result of the study, i.e., the review model of mind mapping can help the students to improve their self-diagnosis ability. Then the writer makes the introspection and expectation for the study.
