Research On The Development Of Online Education Provided By American Universities And Colleges

With the development of information technology,the education sector has been exploring how to use it better for education.as a new teaching model,online education promoted the quality educational resources of Colleges and universities disseminate widely,expanded access to education of learners around the world,filled the knowledge gap between universities,regional or even national,with the online platform across time and space,it has become an important strategic component of higher education,and quickly became popular in universities in the United States.As an American first-class university,Yale University leading American higher education,it online education break the school walls.To the public quality education resources,it is free,so it has attracted more and more attention.Doubtlessly,learning from the successful experience of American universities will be benefit to the development of online education in the process of detours in Chinese universities.By using literature method,I collected and analyzed literature regarding online education,and analyzed the data.At last,select the core message of this study.By using case method,and taking Yale University online education as an example,and analysis its successful experience.Finally,by using comparative method,compare Chinese universities online education with American universities online education,determine the gaps and problems in Chinese universities online education.The results showed that,the success of American universities online education benefit from: that it has a wide variety of online platform,the online courses covering a wide range disciplines,the process of teaching teachers and students interact frequently,the online learning schedule is flexible and reasonable,it has improved online education certification standards,and so on.Through a comparative analysis on “the development of online education in American universities and Chinese universities”,and I reveals American universities online education competitive advantage,identified the gaps and problems in the development of Chinese universities online education,and made the following recommendations for the development of online education in Chinese universities:construct the university own online platform,increase interactive sessions in the teaching activities,research online degree programs,to provide online certificate for online courses,construct online education certification standards,and so on.
