Research And Countermeasures On Junior Students' Math Reading Disabilities

Reading is the basic way for people to obtain knowledge. With increasing of the emphasis on reading, Math reading has already become a worthy research topic. The junior school period serves as a link between primary school and senior school, but the research of it is rather little. This article looks at what kind of reading disabilities are there and what factors effect math reading level.As math reading is a broad concept, it's often measured in math performance. As math reading is an abstract concept, it's difficult to choose a direct approach. With students in a Junior school in Lanzhou as objects, A combination of theoretic and practical research is used: First, this article analyzes the existing literature, summarizes the reading disabilities, and discusses the possible causes. Second, with the teachers' questionnaires, this article gets teachers cognition. Third, with the Junior students' questionnaires, this article studies the influencing factors of Junior students' math reading level and their impact. Fourth, this article also submits some specific countermeasures.The research shows that, there have been lots of reading disabilities, however, there are just three main factors: math reading behavior, CPFS structure, self-monitoring ability. Implying that, other things equal, an increase of 1 point in math reading behavior will yield 0.440441 point in math reading level, an increase of 1 point in CPFS structure will yield 0.337053 point in math reading level, an increase of 1 point in self-monitoring ability will yield 0.136956 point in math reading level.Based on these results, the countermeasures are brought forward in three aspects: In behavior, multi-level identification strategy, language training transformation systems should be used. In knowledge, optimizing CPFS structure, improving logical reasoning ability should be taken. In psychology, multi-stage training for active reading, long-term plans on self-monitoring should be implemented. Moreover, this article also attempts to put forward suggestions on instructional design, teaching implementation, teaching reflection from the faculty's perspective.
