| Mathematical operation ability is one of the most basic ability in mathematics, it is not only the basis for students to continue learning mathematics, forming other abilities, but also is a kind of quality that students must have in the further development,Cultivating students with a reasonable,correct, and rapid computing ability plays an important role in developing students’ number sense, improving the thinking quality, exploring ability, innovation ability,and it is also an important part in improving the math teaching quality and reducing students’ learning burden. In order to understand the situation of junior students’ mathematical ability,this study from the perspective of present situation of junior high school students’ mathematical operation ability, factors that affect students’ mathematical ability, effective strategies in training students’ calculating ability this three sub-problems. The literature method and survey method are used to investigate the mathematical operation ability of junior high school students, hoping to provide some references for the front-line teachers.Survey results show that: 1. in the students’ capability of overall operation,students are not interest in calculating,and the emphasis of computing is not enough,the operational losing is more serious and the overall computing ability is in low level,All in all, there are big problems with the students’ operation ability. 2.In terms of gender, there is a significant difference between male students and female students in the level of mathematical operation ability, and the female students’ mathematical ability is higher than that of male students. 3. In number and algebra, geometry knowledge contents, students’ mathematical calculation ability is unbalanced. In the solution of triangular, quadrilateral score rate is far higher than pass rate,well in fractional, real numbers and inequality and secondary equation, the score rate just get a pass rate,without much difference; in function and round this two parts of contents,score was the lowest, has not yet reached the pass rate. 4.In terms of the habits of the students’ mathematical operation, part of the students did not develop good habits of moderation, estimation, and habits of testing multiple solutions of a problem. the habit that s before examining is relatively good, but the habit that exercise multi-solutions to a problem is relatively poor, estimation and test relatively general. 5.In the use of calculators, the majority of students is very dependent on the calculator,as long as meeting computing related topics, students will solve it directly with a calculator operation, if things continue this way, the students will be more and more strange on the computation process, methods, skills, and computing power did not get very good training, calculation ability is generally low.Recommendations: 1.pay attention to cultivate students’ mathematics interest; 2to strengthen the teachers’ demonstration, cultivate students’ good operation habits; 3to improve students’ understanding of mathematical ability; 4 to improve the mathematics cognitive structure of students, improve their operational ability; 5 pay attention to the penetration of mathematical thinking; 6 changing mathematics teaching in the teaching of science; 7 the appropriate choice of textbooks for information and the use of calculators. |
