| Mathematical operation ability is the foundation of many mathematical abilities,which runs through the whole learning of mathematics.The development and cultivation of various abilities need the support of mathematical operation ability.For a long time,mathematical operation ability,as a necessary ability in mathematics,has been widely concerned,and the research on mathematical operation ability is also a very important subject.The eighth grade is a key period connecting the previous and the next in junior high school,which puts forward higher requirements on students’ arithmetic ability.Many students have various problems when transiting from integral arithmetic to fractional arithmetic.The fractional arithmetic chapter has become the key and difficult part of the eighth grade mathematical arithmetic,which has great research value.Based on the above background,the research questions proposed in this paper are as follows:1.What is the current situation of fractional arithmetic ability of Grade eight students? 2.What are the main types of errors in fractions for eighth graders?In this study,97 students from two classes in Grade 8 of F Middle School in Enshi,Hubei Province were selected to conduct questionnaire survey and fraction calculation ability test,to understand students’ emotional attitude towards mathematical fraction operation as well as calculation habits and methods.The current fraction operation level of grade 8 students was obtained through the answers in the test paper,and the common types of errors in fraction operation were summarized.Finally,three eighth grade math teachers were interviewed in depth to explore the teachers’ views and specific practices on fractional operation teaching.In the investigation,the author found that:(1)the grade eight students’ overall performance of fraction operation level is general,and the total score section is evenly distributed.(2)There are errors of knowledge and method in fractions operation of grade eight students.(3)Junior middle school mathematics teachers attach importance to the practice of mathematics operation,and the method guidance and homework feedback need to be strengthened. |
