Ideological and political education is a complicated process, during which how to accept it plays the key role in not only achieving the goal of education, but also measuring the effectiveness. Since the reform and opening-up and the market economy, the environment of ideological and political education in colleges has undergone great changes. Meanwhile, cultural and thought diversity have brought about great challenge to the education. So it is necessary to reconsider its acceptance mechanism.The acceptance of ideological and political education can be reflected in the relationships among three parts, namely, the subject, the object and the intermediary. The point consists in the process in which the subjects recognize and implement the thoughts, political views and moral norms. The process of acceptance is the test stage for the effect of ideological and political education. It requires us to view the effect of ideological and political education from the perspective of development.This thesis consists of five parts. The first part introduces the background, the significance, the current research home and abroad, and the basic concepts in this study. The second part illustrates the basic features and theories of the acceptance mechanism in ideological and political education, including the basic elements and features, Marx's Theory of Subjectivity, Theory of Political Socialization in sociology, and Theory of Constructivism in psychology. The third part is about the current situation and problems in the acceptance of ideological and political education. It analyzes the positive state and difficulties. The fourth part analyzes the reasons that result in the change of the acceptance environment, educators' neglect of the subjects' psychology, the individual differences of the educates, the conflict between the social dominant values and college students' values, and the structural conflict among school, home and social education. The fifth part constructs the ways of the acceptance mechanism. It proposes the basic principles and explores the basic ways in construction.
