New media is the fifth media providing information services based on digital technology, Internet technology, UI Technology (HMI), mobile technology, communication technology, etc. New media are divided into two kinds:one is the Internet media taking the computer as the output terminal, it mainly includes search engine, news sites, QQ and MSN and instant messaging such as micro-blog, blog, video, network game, network community forums and social networking sites; the other form of new media is mobile digital media taking mobile phone as terminals including e-books, digital TV and IPTV, multimedia interactive magazine, mobile phone TV, mobile phone newspaper and so on.The traditional ideological and political education focuses on inculcating knowledge which characterizes as a single channel of information, lack of attraction and appeal. The consequence is that the educated lack enthusiasm and initiative to accept knowledge. By means of the new media we can innovate and develop new methodology and means in the ideological and political education, improving the autonomous role of the educated. How to improve college students’ideological and political education acceptance effect based on new media has become an important issue concerned.Based on the analysis of practical problems, through access to documents, starting from the connotation, characteristic and development of new media, this paper expounds the practical significance of the new media applied in the ideological and political education. At the same time, by using the method of questionnaire and interview, the writer designs two questionnaires named "the acceptance effect survey of ideological and political education of new media " and "colleges’investigation of students’ideological trend by means of new media".1000questionnaires are issued; interviews are done to administrators from15colleges and universities. Then statistical analysis of survey results is showed by using SPSS18.0software. The following problems are found about the acceptance effect of ideological and political education at the level of cognition, attitude and behavior:college students are cognitively "rebellious" on the use of new media in ideological and political education; they hold a negative attitude and even "conflict" with new media; there is deviance in the practice. On the basis of the result analysis, countermeasures are put forward to improve the acceptance effect of the ideological and political education:we are to optimize the environment and the subjects’schema, guard the ideological and political education network dissemination, construct new media campus and strengthen students’literacy education of the new media.
