The Relationship Between Migrant Children's Parents' Support And Urban Adaptation: Positive Psychology Quality's Effect

Along with the acceleration of pace of social urbanization pace, more and more migrant workers rush into the city, followed by the increasing population of migrant children which has become the vulnerable groups in the city, and their living and development situation attracted more and more researcher's attention. In order to promote the urban adaptation of migrant children,make clear the situation of their parents' support and positive psychological quality, this study used the Adolescent Positive Psychological Quality, Subjective Perception of Parent's support Questionnaire, Children's Loneliness Scale, Children's Depression Scale and Sociocultural Adaptation Questionnaire to investigate 629 students(486 Migrant children in 4 schools that floating children relatively concentrated from Zhongshan, Shenzhen and Zhuzhou, and to explore the relationship between migrant children's parent's support and urban adaptation, and to study the effect of positive psychological quality in them, in order to investigate the mechanism that parent's support effects urban adaptation. The results showed that:(1)Migrant children's subjective perception of parents' support is on the middle degree, significantly lower than that of urban children, subjective perception of mother's supports is higher than father. Significantly different in grade, on sex and the city life living time does not exist significant differences.(2)Migrant children's urban adaptation situation is good, manifest as the loneliness and depression level is not high, there were significant differences in grade, sociocultural adaptation is good, there were significant differences on the urban life time.(3)Migrant children is in the upper level of positive psychological quality, they are not mental-inferior groups.(4)Migrant children are lower than that of urban children in parents' support, positive psychological quality and urban adaptation.(5)Migrant children's parents' support was significantly positively related to urban adaptation.(6)Migrant children's parents' support was significantly positively related to positive psychological quality and any dimensions of positive psychological quality.(7)Floating children positive psychological quality and any dimensions of positive psychological quality was significantly positively related to urban adaptation.(8)Migrant children's positive psychological quality is a partial mediator between parents' support and urban adaptation.This study's results show that migrant children's parents' support affects urban adaptation degree, and positive psychological quality appears to play a role between them. Therefore, increase the degree of migrant children's parents' support and to develop migrant children's positive psychological quality is an effective way to promote migrant children's urban adaptation.
