Research On The Living Conditions Of General High School Teachers In Rural Areas

The growth of the students and the development of education are directly related to the teachers' life quality and their living conditions. Since humanity care has been greatly advocated nowadays, both students and teachers should be given concern. As very important educational resources, General high school teachers in rural areas play a considerable role in the process of urban-rural integration and the reform of rural elementary education.This article took Li Qingu middle school in Ding Zhou as case study, using document-data study, questionnaire and depth interviews,to explore and analyze the general high school teachers' living conditions and put forward tactics to improve them.The conclusion of the study is : Many realistic difficulties are existing although the general high school teachers' living conditions have been improved to some extent in rural areas. Their lower political economic status and social reputation, poor spirit state and living environment,narrow career development, some of which maybe resulted from the teachers themselves,the government, administrative department for education, society, and schools' management system are all responsible for it.. In view of this, the author offers the following practical strategies: the government and its administrative department for education should complete various systems to improve the teachers income and social cognition; a good atmosphere of respecting teachers should be created in the society; schools should improve their images by optimizing cultural construction; the teachers should refine themselves and have confidence to improve their living conditions.
