In May 2006, National Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Personnel collaboratively implemented a plan called a plan of special positions for teachers in rural compulsory education, which has been popularized across over 22 provinces as well as autonomous regions in China, thus becoming an extremely influential policy in supporting education in rural areas. Meanwhile, the effect of this practice has also become the focus of all walks of life. Teachers who are devoted to this plan, as the main part, play a very important role in the effects. Under this circumstance, it is extraordinarily necessary to do a research on the living conditions of these teachers and perfect this plan on the basis of the research conclusions.The research on teacher's living conditions are based on three aspects which are teaching and professional development, work motivation and position recognition, daily and future life. During the writing process, various methods such as questionnaire survey, open-ended interview as well as In-depth interview have been used. This dissertation has in depth analyzed each detail of above three aspects, and also given according policy advice based on the research conclusions.The thesis is composed of three chapters. The first chapter has made a brief introduction on research background, value, current situation, and research process. The second chapter, as the main body, focuses on the research conclusions and discussions and elaborately expresses these teachers'living conditions, in particular, it also discusses the flaws embodied in above-mentioned three aspects. The third chapter is mainly about the suggestions based on the research conclusions, for example, solving interdisciplinary teaching problem in light of local conditions, establishing a teacher training approach on the basis of teacher's real need, in preparation for Continuing Professional Development of being a master Program, enhancing human caring including salary issue and building up a positive direction of public opinion, improving teachers'living conditions on the basis of people oriented, sparing no efforts to arrange incorporation matters, aiming at the strategy of retention of talented people.
