English is an important course in middle school, and writing is one of the basic skills of English. So we should pay more attention to write, since it is so important.This thesis adopted questionnaire survey method and interviewing method. First,the author read a lot of relevant articles to know the present situation. Second, in order to know the present situation of English writing of high school students in grade two of Northern Shaan'xi, the investigation on senior two in Yan'an NO.4 middle school was studied, and the author analyzed the data.The main results of this study are as follows:Firstly, the current situation is not as wish. Mostly of the students don't want to write. And vocabulary, grammar and others are the main factors that make the student can not write good compositions. The students rarely make use some strategies to write,so they can't write good composition and so on.Secondly, influencing factors include external factors and internal factors, analysis is from three aspects of the mother tongue interference, students and teacher.Finally, according to the situation of English writing in senior two, the author gives some strategies to strengthen their writing ability.
