With the development of economy, English becomes more and more important for Chinese students. Writing, one of the four language communication skills, helping students cultivate their ability of comprehension and expression in mastering a language effectively, is of great importance as well as the most difficulty for the senior students, especially for those in rural areas. They dislike it whenever the teachers ask them to write. In the past several years, they have been very poor in writing in the entrance examination. Of course, many experts and educationalists have attached more importance to the phenomenon, conducting lots of explorations on many respects. However, the experimental studies are far lower and few focus on senior students, even less on senior students in rural areas. Meanwhile, systematical, whole and regular researches leave much to be done, specially in the non-linguistic factors. The paper tries to explore the effects of non-linguistic factors on the students' writing in rural areas.
