Dementia is one of the most devastating illness, as it involves a progressive decline in mental functioning leading to eventual total incapacity. Thus, it affects all aspects of diagnosed individuals----eventually robbing them of their very identities. There are many types of dementia, but the most commen form is Alzhrimer's disease, which affects over 5 million Americans, the majority of whom are age 65 or olders. However, there are very little about AD among the public. Under the circumstances, older chinese american were choosed as the research object, their increase population number and special cultural background and they were found to be more worried about developing AD in the future were taken into account. They are short of Alzhrimer's disease knowledge due to disabling conditions and limited English fluency, if one of them was diagnosed with AD, it would weigh on the their family since they were lacking of money and caregiver.As a qualified social worker, the author think we should react on the situation, This research study attempts to evaluate the effectiveness of a culturally sensitive intervention involving education, physical activity and mindfulness training to reduce the fear of Alzheimer's disease and possibly improve brain health in Chinese American families. Analysis of experimental results showa that the intervention is significant and effective for older chinese american who participated in the experiment to improve brain health and reduce the fear of Alzhrimer's disease; It has an adverse effect on drifting aged people along;Sign chi do is very popular and should be developed further; In order to get better understanding, the social workers are responsible to strengthen contacts of group numbers.
