Being the best means of choosing the talents in China, University Entrance Examinations have long been most influential selective examination in China. In order to achieve improvement in English teaching,China has been strengthening the reform in its English education to stamp out some unreasonable parts in it. There are many changes in Zhejiang's university entrance examinations reforms in 2014, especially in the policies on the English examination, including flexible timing of taking the English tests, and the choice of a second test in the three-year period of high school career for each candidate. Therefore, the grade one students of 2015 are the first to face the reforms in the university entrance examinations. It is of great significance to study their English learning styles and motivations. Only in this way can the teachers realize and improve their teaching strategies to adapt to this challenge.Through questionnaires and interviews, this study makes a survey among students in Yuyao Middle School. The results tell us the students and teachers have no changes in English learning and teaching, despite the new reform policies publicized. Through the further interviews, we get a conclusion that the middle school and teachers develop apathy on these changes. Both students and teachers still work as usual. Through the survey, the author founds this new English reform has a negative influence on grade one students. For example, students are more interested in English and spend more time on English. Besides, they have a more active attitude of leaning strategy. Aiming at these problems, the author puts forward the following suggestions: teachers should change their teaching methods to enrich teaching knowledge and to assign reasonable homework and prepare lessons collectively while schools should reduce stress and strengthen the supervision for the students and organize lesson preparation in order to improve their initiative.
