English college entrance examination is the most important evaluation tool to detect the results of high school English teaching at the moment. How its role plays can directly reflect whether or not the curriculum standards get a smooth implementation and truly realize the quality of education. The proposition change of English college entrance examination reflects people’s hope to promote secondary education so as to achieve the requirements of the curriculum standards, and to achieve a real quality education through the improvement of the college entrance examination. At the same time, this change reflects the schools, teachers, students, and the whole society’s reform aspirations towards college entrance examination.Shandong Province has begun its self-proposition of English college entrance since2005. In this thesis will adopt education measurement, Taxonomy of Educational Objectives and communicative test learning theory as its foundation, and use text analysis method to analyze nearly eight years’changes in the exam objectives, type, and content of the examination. On this basis, the author will conduct a survey as well as interview to understand the impact of this change on the teaching objectives, the choice of teaching content, teaching psychology and behavior and other aspects.By analyzing the changes in the exam objectives, the type and content of the examination and the impact on teaching goals, content selection, teaching psychology and behavior, this thesis aims to propose suggestions to the departments of the administration, teachers teaching and students learning.Through the research of nearly eight years’Shandong English college entrance examination changes and the impact on the school English teaching, the ultimate aim of the thesis is to promote the healthy development of English teaching in secondary schools, so as to conform to the requirements of the new curriculum standards, cultivate a highly qualified talent with comprehensive language skills.
