| Basketball is a competing project which is very popular among the masses in China, is also one of the three balls whose development is focused on by The General Sports Administration in the next phase. The result of the basketball game depends on many factors, it is not only the competition of the physical ability, skills, tactics and psychology of the players, but also the wisdom confrontation between the coaches. Timeout and substitution are the only means for the coaches to affect the result the games,the timing of the pause and the effect of it will directly affect the result the games,since the theoretical study of Basketball is lacking in the evaluation of on-the-spot coaching ability of the coaches, it is difficult to assess the on-the-spot coaching ability of adjustment of the coaches from quantified indicators. From the judgment of on-the-spot coaching ability, we can evaluate their spot coaching level and provide a reference for the selection of national team coaches.This thesis studies the timeout effect of the first men's basketball quarter-finals in 2014 World Cup team, through the use of literature, expert interviews, video observation and statistics for the offensive and defensive video fragment editing, statistics and comparative analysis after the timeout in the 16 games in 2014 Basketball World Cup playoff the United States team,Serbia team, France team, Lithuania team, Spain team, Brazil team, Turkey team and Slovenia team. Through the help of video analysts in 2014-2015 season from Si Chuang JinQiang and an assistant coach of the youth basketball Hubei who has been in the position from August 2015, I consulted the well-known experts and scholars and to determine the effect of the timeout studies on index system prototype. From the frequency of pause,the effect of the attack after a pause, defensive performance after a pause and the overall effect after the pause and altogether five aspects of a comprehensive analysis of eight head coaches,with the help of Simmons index to assess the effect of the pause, it makes a comprehensive evaluation of the spot coaching ability of the coaches from different teams with the aim of improving basketball Coach coaching ability evaluation system and providing reference for our training and selection of outstanding coaches.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The coaches had similar pattern to call a time out in the first men's basketball quarter-finals in 2014 World Cup team, the use of the majority concentrated in the second quarter and the fourth quarter of the game.2.Among the Final Eight Teams,the most efficient offensive team is the US team, the lowest is Turkish team; After a pause throw-best offensive team in France, the worst is Brazil team; the best defensive back after a pause is US team,the worst is the Turkish team; The best offensive team after a pause is the United States team, Spain is the worst.3.The most efficient defensive team in the Final Eight Teams is the Spanish team, is the lowest Serbia; the best defensive team after a direct pause is the United States, Spain is the worst; the best attack and defense transition team is Spanish team, the worst is Serbia and Slovenia; after a pause of the best defensive team in the United States, the worst is Slovenia.4.The coach of The United States of America men's basketball team at this World Cup is the coach who has the best pause effect. |
