Teaching quality is the core of higher education,and is also an subject for the development of higher education.How to improve the teaching quality of colleges and universities has been a problem in the development of colleges and universities.The first-class teaching quality is the precondition of constructing first-class universities and the first-class teaching level is the essence of the first-class teachers.In recent years,the evaluation mechanism of paying much attention to scientific research and ignoring the teaching”has hindered the improvement of university teachers' teaching level.In view of the serious quality decline of higher education in the United States,the teaching academic concept put forward by Boyer in the 1990 s has a practical relevance for our country's higher education and provides a new theoretical perspective and broad academic paradigm for the improvement of university teachers' teaching as well.First,on the basis of clarifying the academic connotation and the connotation of the teaching scholarship,it is pointed out that the teaching scholarship has the reflective,openness,practical and innovative features.And then the definition of the teaching scholarship is given in this paper.The teaching scholarship is teachers' creative mental activities according to teaching practice problem and through the teaching reflection,communication,and public the result of researching.The value of the teaching scholarship lies in providing a new academic paradigm,resetting the central role of teaching in colleges and universities,providing a new path for teachers' Professional development and providing a new way for the classification of the teachers' evaluation.Second,by means of questionnaire,an empirical research on the current status of teachers' teaching scholarship in some bachelor universities of Hebei Province is made in this paper.The result shows that there exist such problems as teachers' lack of academic understanding of teaching,lack of education teaching knowledge and ability,lack of openness of teaching,and lack of result of researching.Through the analysis of these problems,the reasons for the problems are found in the paper.Local university teachers' teaching scholarship status is that the traditional academic view makes the universities and teachers have the insufficiency of knowledge to the teaching scholarship,insufficiency of independent construction of education teaching knowledge and training system,teaching has not become common wealth and insufficiency of academic requirements in the evaluation and incentive system in colleges and universities.At last,based on the analysis of the causes of local bachelor university teachers' teaching academic status,four resolution strategies are put forward to provide a reference for the improvement of academic level of university teachers' teaching.The first strategy is to establish statusof teaching scholarship.The second one is to establish the teachers' teaching development center.The third one is to build the platform of teaching academic community.The fourth one is to improve the system of teaching scholarship.
