In recent years,China's higher vocational education develops rapidly,which makes up half in the development of higher education.Higher vocational education cultivates a large number of talents with high quality and skills,the quality of workers are improved,the good employment situation is promoted,the economic development as well,the education system construction is carried forward.Meanwhile,for the narrow academic concepts and the lower teaching status,the structure,the number and the quality of higher vocational college teachers can not meet the requirements of cultivating talents with high quality and skills,the phenomenon such as attaching importance to scientific research and neglecting teaching is usual in higher vocational colleges,which leads the teaching level of higher vocational education can not reach the ideal state,directly affects the development of China's higher vocational education,and the quality of higher vocational education needs to be improved.The goal of higher vocational education is to cultivate the applied talents with high skills to meet the needs of enterprise production,construction,management and service,which requires the teachers in higher vocational colleges should possess stronger teaching practice ability.The quality of education and teaching is the lifeline of higher vocational education,and for the moment,it is the new period to comprehensively improve the quality of education and teaching,focus on connotation development.Therefore,it is of great significance for Chinese higher vocational education to strengthen the construction of vocational education teaching and research teams,improve the levels of teaching and research,promote teachers' scholarship of teaching and learning and encourage teachers to engage in teaching research.Directed by the theory and practice of vocational education,based on the research on the relevant scholars' writings,embroiders on the theme of upgrading higher vocational colleges teachers' scholarship of teaching and learning,this thesis investigates and analyzes the status quo of scholarship of 400 teachers and executives with different professional titles from four aspects: teachers' cognition of scholarship of teaching and learning,the evaluation and management,teachers' qualities and the teaching fund,training and practice,with the research instrument,The Interview on Higher Vocational College Teachers' Scholarship of Teaching and Learning,and the Annual Report on the Quality of Talents Training in HigherVocational Education as aids,which are sent by 4 polytechnics(Jieyang Polytechnic,Chaoshan Polytechnic,Shantou Polytechnic and Shanwei Polytechnic)in east Guangdong in December 2015,the methods of literature review and interview.The study reveals: firstly,the social evaluation mechanism is at fault,the traditional concept restrains the development of the higher vocational college teachers' scholarship of teaching and learning;secondly,the attention that higher vocational colleges pay to the scholarship of teaching and learning is relatively low,and the relevant system is not perfect;thirdly,the structure of teachers in higher vocational colleges is not reasonable,and the level of the scholarship of teaching and learning needs to be improved.This thesis investigates the status quo of teachers' scholarship of teaching and learning in higher vocational colleges,analyzes the data from the Annual Report on the Quality of Talents Training in Higher Vocational Education,explores the causes from three aspects,the society,the colleges and the teachers,puts forward the corresponding strategies and the suggestions of system reform to upgrade higher vocational college teachers' scholarship of teaching and learning,studies the value of the scholarship of teaching and learning to vocational college teachers' professional development.
