How to cultivate students' consciousness of questions effectively and to improve the problem posing ability is an important issue in the field of mathematics education in recent years. To improve the students' ability of problem posing is the inevitable requirement of quality education, and an urgent need for curriculum reform. This is also the starting point to cultivate the spirit of innovation and creativity and the key to solving problems. Therefore, this study intendes to promote students' effective learning method and to improve their learning attitude. The full text focuses on the following aspects:1.It defines certain concepts, such as “problem”,“problem-posing”,“the ability to pose a problem”,“the ability to pose a mathematical problem” and “problem guided learning”.Additionally it delves into the theoretical foundation of related research and introduces the background of this research, including its significance, methodology etc.2.By using the method of questionnaires and interview to investigate the present mathematics problem-posing ability of high school students, this study analyzes the results of the survey and come to the conclusion that high school students' problem consciousness and the ability of posing mathematical problems are generally low.3.This paper generalizes the main causes of students' low capacity on posing questions based on relevant teaching practice, theoretical basis and the investigation.Exploring the method of “question guiding teaching” based on theory and practice, this paper illustrates the value and significance of that method. This thesis explores how to use “problem guiding learning” to improve students' ability to poes questions in different types of classes. The findings are further analysed through questionaire, comparative analysis and case studies. It suggest “problem guided learning” benefits the students in many different ascepts, such as arousing their interests, cultivating their consciousness of problems, development of question-posing strategies etc.
